Hi, I’m Alexis.
Before specialty lattes, coffee meant café con leche and a piece of toasted, buttered Cuban bread. Growing up in Miami, that cup of Cuban espresso with milk was how I drank coffee for most of my life.
When I moved to Tennessee in 2016, exploring local coffee shops introduced me to new flavors. Making coffee became my creative outlet, but my love for it has always been about more than what’s in the cup.
Brew Velvet grew from my love of coffee, vintage style, and nostalgia. There’s a little of the ’50s, the ’90s, and the early 2000s in what I create. I know I’m not alone in missing the character, warmth, and playfulness of those times, and I wanted to bring some of that into the cart.
I love creating drinks, but I love the conversations just as much. Whether you’re stopping by for a coffee or inviting Brew Velvet to your wedding, birthday, or celebration, I want you and your guests to feel welcome and cared for. Sharing coffee, a little nostalgia, and good conversation is my way of being part of the moments that matter to you.
